MTB route from Tortosa to Coll de l'Alba
This bike ride follows a similar route to the MTB trial of the Open Natura Tortosa. It involves 36 kilometres of tracks with different surfaces with gradients of up to 21%, with a total accumulated height gain of 878 m.
The day starts by leaving the Hotel through La Petja. To do this, cross the Pont de l’Estat bridge and go along the left bank of the Ebro River towards the south of Tortosa. When you reach the Plaça de la Familia roundabout (km 2.5), change direction and head NE, following Avinguda Barcelona until km 5, where you change direction to start climbing on a track that combines asphalt and dirt until Coll de l’Alba.
The first section of ascent lasts 2 kilometres, on an asphalt track with maximum gradients of 11%. The second section combines an asphalt and dirt track with a maximum gradient of 13%. The third section is on the slopes of the massif in the direction of Coll de l’Alba, where you will find a track that climbs an interval of 427 metres with an average gradient of 12%, followed by another more difficult track with an interval of 32 m at 26%. From this point you continue along the slopes of the Cardó-el Boix with ascents and descents on rough tracks with an altitude of over 350 metres, with a last uphill before reaching the top point on the route at an altitude of over 617 metres above sea level with a gradient of 10% for just over 180 m.
From kilometre 23 you start to descend from Serres de Cardó-el Boix towards Tortosa, with a vertiginous 11-kilometre descent along asphalt and dirt tracks.
