MTB route from Tortosa to Barranc de la Figuera
This route through the fluvial landscapes of the Ebro River is highly demanding due to its ascents that take you across the Vall Cervera and the Barranc de la Figuera.
From Tortosa, ride along the main road towards Roquetes to reach a stony, partially asphalted track that takes you to the Xerta-Calig Canal. Follow the canal for 3 kilometres to pass Barrancs de Sant Antoni-Lloret-la Galera and enter the Parc Natural Els Ports.
The climb up to the Parc Natural Els Ports on the right-hand side is the main event on this 33-kilometre route. You will climb a stony track with winding curves and differing levels of difficulty. The first uphill stretch is one kilometre long with a height gain of up to 8% which then gives way to the main hill on the route, which is a track that climbs almost 6 kilometres with maximum gradients of 17% in certain sections, until reaching the peak at an altitude of 413 m.
Once at the top, pedal down on dirt and stone tracks then climb a hill of at least 2 km with gradients of 11% that will guide you to the Carrer Major on asphalt, from where you continuously descend 11 kilometres to the lands of the Ebro River enjoying the varied landscape with mountains, crops and fruit trees. This route takes you back to the city of Tortosa.
